Muhammura is a dip commonly found in Syria, but is also popular in Turkey and across the Middle East. The red peppers give this dip a mild zest while the walnuts and pomegranate bring in the creamy sweet flavors. Serve it with pita chips or veggies.
Muhammura Dip

- Ingredients
- 1 cup raw walnuts, lightly toasted in oven
- 1 cup roasted red peppers in a jar (either the Italian or Middle Eastern kind)
- 1/4 cup red onion
- 1 cloves garlic
- 2 tsp Aleppo chile flakes or 1 tsp cayenne and 1 tsp sweet paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp pomegranate molasses
- 1/2 lemon juice
- Parsley for garnish
- Salt to taste
- Instructions
- Roast the walnuts in a skillet till they start to brown and smell roasted. Do not burn them!!
- Cut the onion.
- Add onion, red peppers, garlic, olive oil, pomegranate molasses, lemon juice, and Aleppo chile into a blender and pulse for 30 seconds.
- Add in walnuts and pulse for 10 more seconds. You don’t want to puree it – so resist the urge to pulse for longer.
- Garnish with parsley and serve with Stacy’s Pita Chips
